Italian Grand Prix - FP3: Petrucci marks the best time, is it the right year?MotoGP | Ducati | Danilo Petrucci | Mugello | Ducati Team | Petrucci | DUCATI CORSE | MotoGp 2019
Yesterday Danilo Petrucci, despite the third time in the second qualifying session, was not calm, especially against Marquez, who is much faster this year. He was also worried about the lack of grip on the track and, consequently, the high wear of the tires which, in the race, always make the difference, also considering that last year, right here because of the tires, he went from third to seventh place.
The bike and the team this year are the official ones with lots of wings that give stability to the bike even if they slow down a bit in the straight; last year only Lorenzo had used the wings at Mugello and had won the Grand Prix.
But for Danilo there is always something to improve, the bike has a margin of improvement and today it has shown it: first in the third practice session at 1'46.056.
What is the right year? Danilo with Ducati in recent years has always turned very well at Mugello: in 2017 he finished third after a fantastic duel with his friend Valentino, last year he started fifth, relegated
after a dubious maneuver by Marquez, he reassembled with increasingly faster laps up to the third position but the degradation of the tires forced him to seventh place.
Good luck Danilo!
