Jorge Lorenzo finished sixth place in the German GP, played today at the Sachsenring circuit. The Majorcan driver, who started from the first row thanks to the third time obtained yesterday in qualifying, led the race for twelve laps but was then overtaken by Marquez and later by Rossi, and then progressively lost ground finishing the GP in sixth place. Seventh final position for Andrea Dovizioso, who started from the second row. The Romagna rider had climbed up to the fifth position halfway through the race but was then overtaken by Bautista and Viñales and finished his seventh race. Thanks to today's result Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo rise to fourth and sixth place in the overall drivers' standings, respectively with 88 and 84 points. The MotoGP riders will be back on track from 3rd to 5th August at the Brno circuit for the Czech Republic GP, while all the Ducati riders will meet their fans next weekend at the WDW (World Ducati Week), scheduled at the Misano circuit Adriatic from 20 to 22 July.

"Even today I had a good start and I was in the lead for several laps, but from the beginning I noticed that the track did not have much grip. I was in charge but I realized I could not break my pursuers and when the rear tire started losing grip it was impossible to keep up the pace. Overall we made progress all weekend, but we could not confirm the good work with a positive result. Maybe we made the wrong direction with the setting of the bike: we concentrated too much in trying to get a lot of grip at the front and we probably neglected a little bit of the rear which ultimately affected the race and made it impossible to fight for the podium. Now we are waiting for the WDW party in Misano and then, after a few days of rest, we will focus on Brno where I am convinced that we will come back even stronger. "

"It was a difficult race, but at least this time we fought in the leading group in a circuit where, in the past, we had never achieved good results. We had a good speed at the start of the race but I could not drive fluently so I could not keep the same pace until the end. Up to the middle of the race I was going around with the times of the first ones but then the rear tire dropped and I was not able to drive smoothly and to let the bike run in the curved center. Too bad, but we will also treasure this experience to better understand the direction to follow. "
