What a show!

Motocross | Red Bull | KTM | Cairoli | MXGP | 450 SX-F | Victory | Off Road

The twelfth round of the MXGP World Championship could not be more spectacular because while in Assen the MotoGP champions played with overtaking and counter-siphoning, the KTM drivers practiced the same thing at Pangkalpinang in Indonesia. The first heat was the prerogative of the KTM Messinese Red Bull Factory Racing Team who on his KTM 450 SX-F dominated after a crash in the early stages of Saturday's qualifying, which forced him to a furious comeback from the sixth position. The second heat lived in uncertainty until the end; in fact, after the fall on the fourth lap when he was second and in pursuit of the head of the race, Cairoli also had to fight with a sore thumb. The furious comeback brought the world champion in first position when, at three laps from the end, the pain in his hand has sharpened to the point of making it so rigid that it does not allow the bike to be managed. The result was a fall and the second place in the heats that earned him the same final position on the podium on equal terms with his teammate Herlings on which he accuses a delay in the general classification of only twelve points. "Overall it was a good weekend - said Cairoli -, on Saturday I was quick both in practice and in qualifying, then today I won the first heat but in the second it was more difficult. In the first laps I did not manage to get the right rhythm because the track was different from the first heat and I struggled a bit. Then I stumbled on a bad fall and hurt my thumb, but I managed to keep on driving, trying not to give too much weight to the pain. So I kept running and I approached Jeffrey, but I started to feel the hand fall asleep and I could not drive as I wanted, so approaching it was difficult. When Jeffrey went to the ground, I took the lead, but two turns later I fell again because I lost my hand. I folded the handlebars and damaged the throttle grip so I could not get back to the head. I hope that my thumb is not damaged too seriously, now we will still do some control, hoping to be ready for next weekend to make another good race in the second Indonesian Grand Prix. " Next meeting in less than seven days on the new Semarang track for the Asian Grand Prix.
