The history of motor racing is closely linked to that of MV Agusta, the most successful European motorcycle manufacturer of every age with 75 world titles (38 drivers and 37 manufacturers) from 1952 to 1974. The Agusta team was in fact deployed at the way of the first race of what will become the World Championship. At the beginning Carlo Ubbiali won the fourth place, and then won the following week in the Netherlands. It was July 3, 1949. John Surtees, the same Ubbiali, Mike Hailwood, Phil Read and then, of course, Giacomo Agostini: pilots who entered the legend and who made the history of motorcycling, riding a motorcycle MV Agusta. A legendary epic, which also marked Italian history, with MV Agusta, symbol of the rebirth and success of an entire nation. Forty-two years later, MV Agusta returns as the protagonist in what is the maximum expression of the motor racing competitions: the World Championship together with the Forward Racing Team. Forward Racing Team is the racing team founded in 2009, which has been racing in Moto2 since its inception, getting on the podium in the inaugural race and obtaining the first victory in the 5th Grand Prix at Silverstone. The Forward Racing Team also participated in the MotoGP World Championship, obtaining the first place in the world ranking reserved for Open bikes in 2014 with Aleix Espargaró. The unpublished project, which will take part in the Moto2 World Championship, is already in an advanced stage of development. The track debut is scheduled for next July. "MV Agusta is the brand that has won the most in the history of motorcycling" declared Giovanni Castiglioni, President of MV Agusta. "Seeing the return of MV Agusta at the Grand Prix is a great honor for me. The Moto2 World Championship is very competitive and to be successful it is necessary to bring our maximum technology and experience in the development of racing motorcycles ". "The dream of bringing MV Agusta back to the World Championship was born with Claudio Castiglioni, to whom I have always been linked by deep esteem and friendship, and it came true with his son Giovanni" said Giovanni Cuzari, Forward Racing Team's CEO. "It is difficult for me to express in words what it represents to be an active part of a project together with MV Agusta and CRC, two Italian excellences that have created the most beautiful motorcycles in history. I worked many years because all this could happen and now I feel proud to announce the arrival of MV Agusta in the Moto2 World Championship together with the Forward Racing Team. I am also aware of the great responsibility involved in having such a prestigious brand on the hulls of our motorbike. Our team, alongside MV Agusta and CRC, will work hard to achieve, in the shortest possible time, what we, first and for all enthusiasts, dream of ".
